Large Habotai Silk ShawlsOne of our most popular types of shawls. Our Habotai silk shawls are woven from smooth unfiltered silk threads. They are loosely woven, almost transparent, but warm and almost impossible to wear out. We usually deliver them washed making them softer and get the colors to shimmer. Raw Silk ShawlsThese shawls are also very popular. Are actually of the same kind of silk as the thin silk shawls above. The difference is that raw silk is from outside of silk cocoon where the silk is a little uneven, and must therefore be spun like wool and cotton. The reason why it is more expensive than ordinary silk is simply because there is more silk, the shawls are heavier and warmer. You can also order raw silk fabric by the yard in the same colors. They are slightly heavier and wider than these woven shawls. | 80 × 170 cm 25 colors | 400 kr
Raw Wild Silk ShawlsThe yellow silk is a wild silk found only in Cambodia. A slightly different silkmoth. The white silk is a normal plateau silk grown in cooler climates. The Cambodian yellow silk thread is shorter and stronger. The woven textile becomes very soft when used. It is very hard to find these type of shawls. The silk fabric is difficult to manufacture, the silk is homegrown and handspun and bought up by Japanese and Thais. | 80 × 170 cm 1 undyed + | 400 kr | Example: |

Silk Organza ShawlsOur silk organza is woven in a remote area of Cambodia where it is very difficult to travel to. In dry season you travel along a very bad potholed road, in rainy season you must travel several hours by ferry and small boats. But it is a wonderful place, and one notices the residents' wealth in the area due to the income they get through silk weaving. It is a very beautiful, transparent, shimmering and strong silk organza. | 90 × 200 cm 44 × 196 cm | 300 kr | Examples: |
Natural Dyed Wild Silk Scarves
Many of our shawls are natural dyed (usually plant dyed). Weavers in Cambodia always color their own thread. In the fifties almost all Cambodian silk was natural dyed. Today, most silk as in the rest of the world is chemically dyed. But natural dyeing is coming back. Although natural dyeing takes longer time and costs more, we prefer natural dyeing. But we also support the weavers use non-polluting German colors, they are more expensive but beautiful, and do not pollute the rivers. | 40 × 150 cm many patterns + color variants | 400–500 kr | Example: |
Ikat Silk StolesOur large ikat shawl / shawls are woven in Cambodia. We have bought them up through many years In Thailand these are no longer wwoven, they will eventually also disappear in Cambodia or become so expensive that we can not buy them anymore. They are a piece of high quality artwork which you can keep for life. We specify minimum size and weight, as they are handwoven can be a little larger than we write and it does nothing.

Lotus ShawlsIn northern Burma at Inle Lake, two days' journey from Yangon, after a long cruise on a lake you get to some houses on stilts, where they weave shawls of lotus stems. These shawls are expensive, since it is very difficult to extract the fiber of the lotus flower and many lotus flowers are used for each shawl. The reason that they work with this very labor intensive lotus fiber is that lotus is a sacred flower in Buddhism, if one wanted to show particular respect a monk, one gave and still gives him a dress woven in the lotus. These are very beautiful shawls that feel like a blend between silk and linen. They are strong and become soft after use. | 700–1.600 kr | soon available in webshop

Figurative Ikat (Pidan) Silk ShawlsThese, very complicated to weave, ikat weavings are called a Pidan. For many centuries they have been woven for pagodas. Wealthy people donated them. Today there are very few who can weave them. For years we have bought up those we could get. In a few years they may completely disappear because they are too time consuming to weave and very few older women know how to do it. Japanese and other people in Asia hang them on the wall as art. But they are also beautiful as a table cloths or shawls. And your neighbor will for sure not have one alike corresponding.
